Spiced nose of cinnamon, anise and cardamom; a warming smooth taste reminiscent of pumpkin pie, cinnamon latte, mulled wine spices. Adding honey rounds out the flavour.

Masala chai has been associated with better health heart, improved digestion, and healthy blood sugar levels. This blend is anti-inflammatory due to the abundance of potent antioxidants released from the butterfly pea flowers. Cinnamon and other chai ingredients have anti-microbial properties.
Drinking & cooking

Can be enjoyed as a hot drink and in sweet culinary creations.

  • Stovetop method: Add 1 heaped dessertspoonful of Sky Blue Chai butterfly pea blend to 150-175mL milk (or milk substitute), and bring to the boil using a low-medium heat. Boil gently for 1-2 minutes, turn off the heat and cover. Sweeten with 1/3 teaspoon of honey, and let the spices infuse for 8-10 minutes.  Strain into a cup and enjoy.
  • Coffee machine method: Steep 1 heaped dessertspoonful of Sky Blue Chai butterfly pea blend in 150mL milk (or milk substitute) overnight in the fridge. Pour the entire contents into a metal jug and froth using the steam wand of a coffee machine. Set the jug aside and let the spices infuse for 8-10 minutes. Strain into a cup and enjoy.
  • Combo method: Forgot to infuse overnight but want a light-blue velvety drink? This combo method has you covered! Follow the stovetop method, but instead of straining into a cup add the infused blue chai directly into a metal milk jug, then froth using the steam wand of the coffee machine.

1) for diehard chai fans, add a teaspoon of black tea during the infusion process (adds caffeine);
2) a spiced blue drink prepared using the Boiling Method can be made silky and frothy (and a lighter shade of blue) using a handheld milk frother/aerator;
3) the boiling stage of the process is the most important to get maximum spice flavour – but watch out that it doesn’t burn on the bottom of the pan

Each pack contains ~10-12 servings of Sky Blue Chai, depending on the desired  level of spice.
